Flatforms and Liquorice

I bought these awesome new flatforms from Asos the other day and I'm yet to actually try them out! Maybe once this cyclonic weather dies down, I'll finally be able to step out of the house (with the brightest shoes in Brisbane of course!) They actually remind me a lot of Liquorice All Sorts, you know the square lollies with the strips of neon colours? Which makes them all the more fun to have, a nice burst of colour and energy in an other wise dull environment. This new craze of flatforms has hit the small city of Brisbane and frankly everyone wants a pair of these crazy height boosters! Although they are a bit strange at first to walk in, you do get used to them and they are definitely worth the adjusting. So it's safe to say I'm thrilled with my new purchase and of course having bought it from Asos, ensures they're a great bargain! - Tali

Inspiration Overload

Breakfast at Tiffany's
Alexis Dawn

NYC

Zimmermann

It’s almost impossible to try and fit everything that inspires us into a nutshell, but we've some how managed to squeeze it down into 4 simple photos: Breakfast at Tiffany’s, every girl’s fantasy, a look inside Alexis Dawn, one of the most exquisite and on trend stores on James Street, New York City, the epicentre of all things fashion and just general amazement and finally Zimmerman, one of Australia’s leading labels ($$$...$)

Moon river, wider than a mile… ahh Breakfast at Tiffany’s, you never cease to amaze me. I’m forever in complete nostalgia with Holly Golightly and her glamorous life. I’m currently reading the book for the fourth time and the movie has been viewed 57 times on my laptop’s iTunes… I just checked.  - Meg

A style icon for every girl, Alexis Dawn has it all…One of my all time favourite shops to visit when wandering through JamesStreet. Every time I walk through the door of this little boutique I have to literally control myself from just running up and grabbing every item in thestore. Not to mention feeling like a million bucks when you grasp that bag within your fingers vowing 'till death do we part' to that dress you just couldn't resist and can now officially call your own. So if you haven't already visited, or paid several visits to, this Brisbane based boutique, I'm honestly not sure what you're waiting for.  -Tali

New York, New York. The ultimate epicentre of everything I could possibly dream of. This city has a somewhat exclusive and practically uncanny ability to combine my love for fashion, food, art and architecture - it must be twins with Paris. I couldn’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be, starbucks accompanied by a stroll in central park, not to mention to constant innuendo; what would Carrie Bradshaw do? Empire State of Mind and Sinatra’s classic have a tendency to find themselves on a constant loop on my iPod. - Meg

Ah Zimmerman, even though the whole 'cinnamon' joke still hasn't died yet, I'll still love you with my whole heart until the day I die. This brand I believe is one of my true favourites, the mix between relaxed and beachy and classy and feminine is impeccable. I recently bought my Semi Formal dress from there, it's called the Cabana Strapless Drape Dress in the colour Fire (an orangey/red colour) and I love the classy, timeless design. Paired with some orange Mimco heels and aqua and gold accessories, I think I've hit the jackpot. I must admit though, I was very hesitant on matching the colour of my dress with heels but much to my mother's excitement, I let her swipe her magic card and purchase my new Mimco heels! (Of course she bought them, I'm far too broke and it's her fault really, she showed me them…) So, after all that incessant rambling, what I was really trying to say is that Zimmerman will always be my true fashion soul mate. Long Live Zimmerman! -Tali

Flamingo's Luck

Unlike most of us the flamingo has this unfair ability of being in perfect balance for what seems like forever. For us on the other hand, whenever it seems like you’ve got it all going for you reality has this knack of hitting you right in the face, pushing you down and, like dominos, brings everything down with you. Flamingo’s Luck is about giving us, Tali and Meg, a place to keep balanced, we can express every single love, obsession and fixation and whether this be for fashion, food, location, song, book, movie is completely up to us and reality gets no say in it what so ever. We mightn’t be lucky enough to keep our own lives in perfect balance 24/7 but we can all learn something from the flamingo and at least give it a shot.
